Hope
2010-01-16 13:41:01
This piece was about Downing Streets gift for Obama's inauguration, putting forward the case for British Victorian artist George Frederick Watts's depiction of 'Hope'
The haunting picture hung in the cell of Nelson Mandela and appears also to have been a source of inspiration for the new President.
My version of Hope seems to have stuck a cord with The Watts Gallery! The drawing is featured on the gallery website as are limited edition prints, the proceeds of which are helping towards refurbishment of the gallery. The image is also being show in the opening exhibition in 2010 entitled 'Hope.'
Prints available through the Watts gallery website.
